favourite one piece

I have recently been so fond of one piece dresses! They're incredibly comfortable and can be worn to lounge in or dressed up with your favourite dainty scarf & heels. OC can be humid during the summer, and one pieces are a perfect wear for a summer outfit. Here I am lounging in one of my favourite one piece.

dress: Citizens of Humanity, Nordstrom
nail colour: essie in fiji, Target
earrings: simple pearls, Italy

Don't forget to lather your skin with high SPF sun protection cream, like Neutrogena award winning Ultra Sheer Dry Touch in 100+SPF. I cannot stress enough how crucial it is to cover your skin with the right skin protecting formula to avoid sun spots and skin cancer. Since my skin is fair & sensitive, I use 100+ SPF. If you prefer lighter formula & a little glow, use lower SPF x

a hidden gem & a new find.

Hello followers! It's been quite a long time since I posted on Blogspot. I recently had a lot of opportunities come forth my way and had to neglect my journal for those reasons. HOWEVER, I've found the chance to use some of my free time to focus here tonight!

I discovered a wonderful product on accident during a stroll to the corner stores after my trip to the post office. I had no intentions to purchase anything but my eyes came across a black cross stitched purse in a perfect resemblance of the simple Chanel bag.

Bag1

Now mind you, I'm not really into replicas much, but sometimes I can't carry a nice bag around all the time. On the label the bag is designed by 'Expressione Urbana' but with a little research, I think it is actually 'Urban Expressions', a company developed somewhere in the US or Asia. This gorgeous bag is the perfect solution to a mock up purse when needed. And here is the astonishing part of why this bag is great:

^It is a genuine certified vegan product! It is PETA friendly approved company so all you vegans out there can joyfully use this bag without feeling guilty of using a real leather bag :)

^Notice the specially treated vegan leather the company had created in order to appear as a real leather effect. I was so impressed by how real the vegan leather looked and felt in my hands and it is completely scratch free! What could get any better than that now?

Bag detail

^I love the details on the straps! The two straps are thick steels and laced with vegan leather, just like the Chanel bags. Such excellent details like this should never be missed; this bag comes with all the likely designs needed.

^A close up look of the buckles that ensures the straps into place. The gold toned steel buckles compliment the bag just enough to look simple and classy without over exaggerating the design.

^A look inside the bag: spacious and wide. The interior is lined with breathable cotton patterned with hazel modern flowers, giving it a contemporary and cool feel. Look how much I could fit in this bag! I put my french wallet, coin purse, makeup bag, keys, and a daily planner and notice how much more I can add such as a book and a water bottle. This purse is perfect.

^I've already grown attached to this bag after making a few trips with it. This is an excellent and perfect medium bag if a designer label isn't in your price range or if it is simply not your style taste. I can carry anything in here up to 10 kilos (about 23 pounds) without feeling worried the straps may break. It is vegan friendly, exceptionally sleek, and classy for any individual.

I highly recommend anyone to seek this bag as I feel it will be the perfect addition to your collection. Ever since I purchased my first LV, designers really caught my taste, however, this purse is the perfect replica I have ever owned that had not failed me. I promise you this bag is excellent in every way and much worth it when you see it yourself in person.

getting ready for saturday art show.

I like to spend my Saturdays waking up early with a fresh cup of English Breakfast Tea with honey & cream, and an arranged plate of pastries & sweets. It's quite a fav!

  • English Breakfast Tea.
  • Crumpet with boysenberry jam & clotted cream.
  • blueberry scones.
  • coffee crumb cake.
^ I hardly finish all the pastry goods, but I like having the option of a few on a plate & well, I often tend to pick at it as well. I spent the beautiful afternoon re-arranging my room a little bit & getting rid of clothes I do not need. I still have more work to do, my closet is an utter mess! Once I accomplish cleaning & moving my furniture around I will make sure to take photos to show you the outcome of my new room.

144 grand opening art event.

^ I was invited to a grand art gallery opening located in West Hollywood a couple months ago and the day finally arrived. I was thrilled to be invited to this specific event & prepared myself for a great time. It was also Mr. Boss' first art curating event he has ever hosted so I know it means a lot for many people to attend the event.

I decided to go for a soft look with my makeup & of course, to accentuate my eyes again.

  • Clinique: liquid foundation in alabaster breeze 01 : $20.00 @ Clinique Cosmetics.
  • Estee Lauder: pressed matte finish in aeromatte : $16.00 @ Estee Lauder Cosmetics.
  • MAC: mineral blush colour in dainty : $ 22.00 @ MAC Cosmetics.
  • Estee Lauder: bronzer in bronze : free gift! @ Estee Lauder Cosmetics.
  • Estee Lauder: lip colour in nude: free gift! @ Estee Lauder Cosmetics.
  • MAC: false lashes : $8.00 @ The Cosmetic Store.
^ I was so happy when I found my Revelon eyeshadow palette in moss in my pile of makeup I had put away in a box. I use these colours as part of my base to create a 'smoky' eyeshadow look. I photographed my Clinique foundation & Estee Lauder pressed matte finish for you to see. They are so light on my skin & feels like I am hardly wearing any face makeup at all.

For the event I put together a cute outfit I have been dying to wear. I just couldn't find the right time to display my outfit, and luckily this event was the perfect time to show it off.

^ Here is a close up of the zipper that runs down the sides of the pants. I bought these during the Black Friday sale in Las Vegas after Thanksgiving. They were actually very tight on me when I purchased them, but now that I have lost some weight they fit perfectly. I finished my outfit with a pair of my Louboutin's & got ready for a little photo action with my photobooth.

^ If you know me, I hardly smile with my teeth showing. I never really liked my smile even though I have perfect straight teeth, but I was requested by a reader to take a photo with my teeth showing, so here you go!

08 January 2011

5 am.

I woke up a few times in the middle of the night yesterday, and I officially woke up at 5 am this morning. I'm not sure what triggered my awakening but I didn't feel like falling back asleep.

I received an anonymous question under my Formspring account and they asked what kind of make up I wear. It's hard for me to find the perfect lip colour since my skin is rather fair during winter & because I tend to apply more makeup on the eyes, the lips need to be much more subtle.

  • Estee Lauder Lip Palette: free gift! @ Nordstrom.
^I absolutely ADORE this lip palette. I received it as a free gift when I was purchasing a matte face finish & it is by far the best little sample kit of lip shades I own. I apologize in advance for the blurry photo, I lent my Nikon to my brother so I have been using my easy point & shoot Canon. My favourites are the second colour, first row & first colour, second row. They are sheer & match my lip colour that just gives the right about of tint to bring out the nude shade.

  • Estee Lauder eyeshadow & face correction palette: free gift! @ Nordstrom.
  • bare minerals: eyeshadow in bark : $13.00 @ Bare Minerals.
  • MAC: mineral blush colour in dainty : $22.00 @ MAC Cosmetics.
  • Bobbi Brown: longlasting gel eyeliner in dark brown : $22.00 @ Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
  • Rimmel London: eyeliner in white : $7.99 @ Target.
  • Revelon Perle: eyeshadow in snow : $3.50 @ Target.
  • MAC: false eyelashes : $8.00 @ The Cosmetic Store.
^ This is my use of make up for the day. I actually didn't photograph the Clinique sheer foundation or the Estee Lauder matte press finish, but the list above is just to show you the collection of colours I use to achieve the look for my eyes.

IMG_4847_2

^ The finished look. Although it appears I may wear too much eye make up due to the list above, I am able to make it look soft & romantic without overdoing it.

IMG_4838_2

^ Here is a close up of my falsies. As you can see I wear glasses, 24/7. I adore my glasses & I think they give me & express my personality. It's hard for me to give them up for anything really, although I know I should give them up from time to time on special occasions where glasses clearly do not match my outfit. I call these the 'whore' lashes, since they are dramatically long, but they define my eyes very well & gives much focus on my almond eyes.

I'm ending my evening with a gorgeous black dress with frills at the top from Forever 21, black lace gloves, & my BeBe leopard Zaharas. I will photograph these later & update this post. Until then, here is a little photo booth action! x
